Zoya "Cosmo"

Good morning polish darlings!

I bring to you today Zoya "Cosmo," one of the original Magical Pixie Dusts. Please note that I own the mini-size, so that's why the bottle looks so small. It has large holographic hexagon-shaped glitters, holographic micro glitters, and the traditional Pixie Dust base. It is a very silver gray. For my swatches below I left my pointer finger with only one coat of Zoya "Cosmo" because I wanted you to see what it looks like without the full density. It makes an interesting topper, though keep in mind it is rather opaque. It would look gorgeous over a French manicure or another polish color. The rest of my fingers I applied two thin coats to reach full opacity. I imagine this being like dipping one's fingers in silver sprinkles filled with holographic goodness! First up is the polish by itself with no topcoat. For textured polish lovers out there, this polish is for you. It is pretty rough, so it will catch on things, so just keep that in mind. It was very hardy during removal, so I imagine it will hold up to some wear better than traditional mainstream textured polishes.

Next up is "Cosmo" with glossy topcoat via SuperChic Lacquer "Marvel Liquid Macro Topcoat" in one coat. I love the gloss of this polish better, personally, but I recommend 2-3 coats of a thick topcoat to reach full smoothness. I did one thick topcoat here, which while pretty, it definitely could use another. The holographic goodness of this polish really, really, comes through with gloss topcoat. It could simply be the effect of how light penetrates and reflects with glossy topcoat. It does deepen the silver a tad, but it never goes to a "gray," maintaining its silver shimmer. I'm dying to do some nail art with this sometime. What I love about this polish is that it is fun and bright, festive without being for any one particular season. The bottom image is where I applied a single coat of Butter London "Matte Finish Topcoat," however I find it leans slightly "plushy" looking than full matte. While I like this effect, I'm still on the hunt for a fully-matte topcoat.
